I really think that's deeply encoded in kitteh DNA...they all go for the same spots.

Mine used to jump there from my highboy...so he got a good meter and a half high head start. After that, he'd start chiseling away at my nostrils, mining for nose gold.

But..I love cats, I really do. Ya kinda have to love em...
